WHAT IS CAMPHOR ?
It is a white crystalline solid. It is a cyclic ketone and contains turpentine. It is an aromatic compound means it has aroma or odor. It’s scientific name is Cinnamomum camphor.
It is a volatile compound which mixes in air without leaving any residue. Production: it is also called as karpur.It is obtained from karpur tree. The scientific name of this tree is camphora officinarum. It tree found in East Asia.
Example: –
India, China , Japan etc. camphor leaves are very shiny and glossy. The karpur woods is chipped in to small pieces. The chips were steamed in a container, allowing the camphor to crystalline inside . And in same process one extra thing form that is camphor oil. This oil has also very economical value.

In old days it was used as hair oil. My grandmother used to this oil in my hair. She applied this oil on my scalp. It helps in killing of louse, germs. It removes dandruff. It can be apply twice a week. In modern days still we are using this technique to get ride of from louse.
1. How to Make Camphor Oil at Home:-
We can make this oil in house. Put some camphor in coconut oil .leave it over night. It is ready to use.
1 . The oil is also used in pain relief.
2. This oil is also use in cough and cold, it works as vicks.
3 . This oil can also apply on the some minor wounds because of its Anti- bacterial properties.
4 . It has a pleasant smell. It is also use in clothes.

The oil can cause skin irritation, if used in large amounts. So, it is necessary to do first a patch test on a small area of skin before using it on the scalp of hair.
Dryness :-
The oil can cause scalp dryness or hair dryness or even skin dryness also, if it used for prolonged time. So. It is recommended that it should be first dilute in oil then apply.

2 . How long can I leave camphor oil in my hair?
Apply 1 – 2 hours before bathing. Then wash your hairs with mild diluted shampoos. If the oil is used in moderate quantity then it have a magical effect, but if it is used for long time, it can cause severe hair dryness and skin irritation and redness etc.
3. Is it helpful for our hair?
It may helpful for our hair as well as for skin. It can prevent hair louse to grow. It can be used on small wounds also but not in large amounts. It can prevent hair dandruff also. Do not use it in daily basis.
