Fast moving life is increasing obesity among the people. Our lives have become easy and comfortable. People are getting more attached towards tongue tastes and moving away from healthy or coarse grains. We are preparing a variety of foods using different types of sauces, double fry, hydrogenated oils, refined oils, artificial sweeteners, food colors, mono sodium glutamate(msg) ,refined grains, powders, starches, gluten etc. These are easy, time savings, and taste enhancers.
Because we have started giving first priority to tastes, we are becoming physically inactive and dependent on the machines, packed foods etc. Excessive fat deposits is a condition of overweight.
First Priority of tastes increasing our cravings and over eating. Therefore present day obesity is increasing which induces many dangerous diseases in future such as cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, Cerebrovascular accident, osteoarthritis, cataract, intestine ulcers etc.
The society in which we are living, fat people are generally ignored, hated, abused etc. therefore these also cause body, mental , psychological and social problems. In other words we are inviting different types of dangerous diseases through it.
A BMI of 30 or higher is the benchmark for obesity in adults. The BMI measures average body weight .
REASONS OF OBESITY
According to Charak the reasons are:-
1 . Overeating
2 . Excess consumption of refined sugar, rice, fatty foods, starchy food ( e g – corn starch is used in food. It makes our food dense and enhances food tastes. E g :- Manchurian, paneer chilli , soya chilli etc) . Starch foods have 30 times the glycemic index of sugar.
Excess amounts of heavy, sweet, salt intake ,cold drinks , fat, fast foods, palm oil, ultra- processed food and hydrogenated oil are responsible.
3 . No physical exercises
Rest, comfortable, luxurious, sitting position, official work, mental pressure etc. Genetic history ( genetic defect)
4 . If someone has genetic family history, most probably it is possible to dominate this disease.
5 . Overthinking
According to Charak, if a person eats healthy foods while he/ she is suffering from depression, mental trauma ,sadness , fear etc. then they will not get the proper nutrition instead they will face the problems.
If we eat normal Chapatti with salt it will definitely become superfoods when eaten with our internal heart and soul and happiness.
6 . sleeping in the day after eating but instead we can take a power nap.
7 . Cold drinks and cold are also responsible for it.
Instead of these cold we can drink Clay Pot water ( Matka ka paani) . It tastes very good.
