PINEAPPLE FARMING
The pineapple is famous for its unique flavour ,aroma tastes and for health benefits. crown of leaves are on top which gives it the appearance like sartaaj. Pineapple belongs to the largest herb family called Bromeliaceace . Its botanical name is Ananas comosus. It was introduced by portuguese in Bharat in 1550 and from Bharat was spread to China, south east asia, south Pacific ocean islands etc. Because of its unique taste and health benefits it was also introduced in Europe such as England and France in the 17th century.
TASTES AND HEALTH BENEFITS:-
1 . Sweet ,sour ,sharp, juicy , aromatic and Appetite booster .
2 . It is abundantly found in the summer season – Rainy season.
3 . The ring-like structure found on the outer surface of the pineapple is called the “Eye of the Fruit” . The head part or upper part of the succulent cut and sow in the soil will develop into a new plant.
As the number of the eyes present is the same as the health benefits of this fruit.
4 . Leaves have a saw -like structure.
5 . Rich in vitamin A ,C and little in vitamin B.

5 . Its leaves are also important . The leaves are very hard . clothes are knitted in china from the fibres of the leaves. Papers are also made with the mixed fibres of leaves and bamboo. Beautiful art or painting is done on this paper .

7 . The peels or rinds are also used in making animals fodder by drying in the furnace.

TIPS FOR GROWING PINEAPPLE FARMING:-
1 . Sunlight is more important than water.
2 . Requires more sunlight
3 . More sunlight is responsible for enhancement of the taste.
4 . Well drained soil and land required because its roots are very sensitive. Otherwise the roots will start rotting.
5 . Therefore the pine apple farming best can be done in hilly areas because here the will drained off.
6 . Watering every 10-15 days and if fruiting starts, weekly watering is done.
7 . It is said that Mauritius varieties of pineapple are more tasty.
8 . The first lands are digging about 1 meter deep with the help of JCB / machines .
9 . The weeds and grasses are removed and cleaned.
10 . The pineapple succulent is planted in rows. The distance between two rows should be 1.5 feet and the distance between two plant succulents should be 1.25 feet. Each set of plants should have a gap of 3 feet. This gap helps in irrigation, spraying pesticides , fertilizers, harvesting etc.
11 . We can plant 10,000 plants in 1 Acre of land.
12 . If the plants are properly cared for, the yield can start within 10 months after the planting.
13 . The second yield after a gap of 5-6 months.
14 . One yield can give 4-5 times fruiting. Meaning that we can harvest 4-5 fruits from one plant.
15 . After 3 years, we should remove all the plants and clean them and replant new ones. In the removing and cleaning process, we get or store the succulents to replant it again into new.
16 . Opening of the eyes of the pineapple indicates the fruit has become mature and ready to harvest.
SEASON:-
1 . We can plant them in the summer , winter and rainy season too. But yes ,there are some difficulties in planting in rainy seasons. There is no specific time to grow. We can grow it in any season.
USES OF PINEAPPLES IN PHARMA INDUSTRIES AND MARKETS
FERTILIZERS:-
1 . Chicken manures are given immediately after plantation. After 1- 1.5 months urea can be given.
2 . Within 2 months ,we need to give mixed FACTAMFOS 20:20:0:13 potash, urea in small amounts.
SOIL / IRRIGATION METHOD / HARVESTING SEASON:-
1 . Grow in all types of soil ,but slow in white soil and alluvial soil.
2 . Water with hose pipes is easy. The sprinkler process increases the weeds germination and removing weeds from pineapple succulent is a very difficult task.
3 . Harvesting can be done in any season.
COMMERCIAL OR MARKETING OF PINEAPPLE:-
Mostly sold in North India ,Delhi, Jaipur , Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai etc.
INTER CROPPING FOR EXTRA INCOME AND SOIL RENEWABLE:-
Coconut, Rubber plants , Vietnam varieties of Jack fruits. It is labour oriented farming.
The plant’s gap distance should be 30 feet. Otherwise it will restrict sunlight which is necessary for growing pineapples.
In Bihar, Kishanganj district is also producing different varieties of pine apple such as Mauritius varieties, Jaldhup, Lakhat and Charlotte Rochails etc.
