AYURVEDIC USES OF BELPATRA AND WOOD APPLE :-

1 . Pulp of ripen wood apple + tamarind + mishri= All should be crushed in normal water and make juice
The juice is helpful in relieving body heat, yellow urine, nausea and diarrhea etc.
2 . Boil the Belpatra in the water. The water can be used to wash any type of wounds. Paste of fresh Belpatra leaves apply on the wounds. It works as pain relief ,stops pus and wounds healing or drying wounds.
3 . Leucorrhea or white discharge and heavy menstrual bleeding is very common in women. Make the paste of fresh belpatra leaves. Mix the paste in cow milk. Put some cumin powder in it.
Can be taken two times a day.
4. Make a poultice of fresh belpatra leaves of belpatra and can be put on your eyes. It helps in pain relief for eyes, redness of eyes and excess accumulation of dust.
5 . A spoon of juice of fresh belpatra leaves of belpatra can be given in yellow diarrhea to the child.
6 . Bel murabba fights indigestion , blood stools, intestinal wounds etc.
7 . Mix some powder of kebab chini powder with pulp of wood apple fruit . It can be taken with milk. Helps in fighting old syphilis.
TYPES OF WOOD APPLR :-
1 . KAGAZI BEL :-
The tree is not as big as neem and Banyan. It is a medium sized tree and fruits are also small and medium sized. The outer layer is soft. We can break it by keeping it between our palms. Some wood apples attained the size of human brains. Due to its medicinal values and auspiciousness, it is grown in houses and gardens as well as in Temples.
2 . WILD WOOD APPLE :-
Found in forests. Fruit size is small compared to Kagazi bel. But both have the same medicinal values and uses.
When the fruit becomes fully matured and ripe then it should be harvested.
OTHER PROPERTIES OF WOOD APPLE :-
1 . The gum that comes out from the trees is also very beneficial. If someone’s intestine is rough from inside, it makes the intestine rough so the poops and waste materials easily come out.
2 . The aromatic tea is prepared from the leaves of a tree in Sri Lanka. The tea is very tasty.
3 . The leaves are also used as fodder and given to the camels. The camel shepherd gives these leaves to their camels . By eating the leaves the immunity becomes stronger and they become disease free.
4 . Because of its aroma and auspiciousness ,its woods are compared to the Sandalwood. The white flowers are also very scented.
5 . The outer hard layer of wood apple is used as a container. The medicines and other things kept in the wood apple container . It was considered very pure.
6 . Bel sarbat or juice is excellent for health. Some people also add milk and curd in place of water. It is excellent for the stomach in summer . It makes us cool, refreshing, energetic and active.

The leaves are 3 in bunches but sometimes five which is also very common. But only three belpatra leaves are offered to the shiva. The three leaves indicate shiva, vishnu and brahma.
It is said that the Devi lakshmi is in the form of auspicious belpatra. There are many stories about it.
